vikings.

maybe if i remind you what you're supposed to look like, you will return. also...omg my doggie is so cute!! more bloom pics here.

just back from a weekend jaunt to D.C. to hang out with my friend Kate and see the cherry blossoms. i haven't finished my disposable camera yet so here are some photos from the last two times i've been in D.C. this past year. the very top one is from my road trip to Austin last May and the rest are from Obama's inauguration. more inaugural pics here.

keeping up with the artists...
in addition to Kelsy's etsy, which is adorable, she now has a tumblr http://kelsycarleen.tumblr.com/ where you can get an insight into some of the images and objects (i.e. the images pictured above) that inspire this budding designer!

j.lee and i went to the whitney biennial on Friday and i have to say, i was pretty into it considering i thought the 2008 biennial was a snoozer. there were some really interesting fiber works going on (and you know how i like those fibers) and a really strong return to painting and drawing. four stand-outs for me were, featured in the order of their images above from top to bottom, aurel schmidt, storm tharp, charles ray, and pae white. you should ch-ch-check it out before it closes at the end of May.

did you know that Austin has the world's largest urban bat colony? it's pretty awesome and definitely worth checking out as the sun sets, which is when they make their appearance. jinnie and i got a little meta while waiting to see them and the couple is my cousin and his gf emily, both recent grads of UT Austin, now current residents of San Fran.

more images from my time at south by last year with j.lee and s.liu and d.koch. the one at the top is a fav because it was taken while jinnie was still shaking from having walked by joseph gordon-levitt on the street.

ahh...artist/sportswear collaborations...a fav of mine, particularly because they tend to be a bit more on the affordable end. check out Kehinde Wiley's collab with Puma here!
...since i can't be there this year...i'll share some photos from last year...
